Too much funk to fit; PT 1

Funk sounds like "funky" with the accent. This is Funk Part 1. It's about the history and different genres of the funk craze in Rio's favelas. Coming is my best attempt at a portrait of the culture surrounding the current funk obsession. Including the low down on bailes, or off the heezy funk parteez. Gotta get my hands on some good photos at the baile wayyy later tonight! (The ones I went to last night in Rocinha and the night before in Vidigal are strictly UNcamera-friendly.) Here's a good one I found on the interwebz, though.
Of course, dancing funk happens mostly at bailes between the hours of 2 and 6 in the morning - not on the beach during the day. But this woman is super-Carioca. The thong couldn't be realer. The bundão (bootilicious badonk-adonk) couldn't be realer. The setting is Rio real. And her dance moves are TOP NOTCH.
